The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is advising consumers not to purchase or use the popular blue diamond blue pill after testing positive for the drug’s active ingredients. The active ingredients in the blue diamond blue pill are sildenafil, tadalafil and vardenafil, which are used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) and pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), respectively.
The FDA has not identified the exact ingredients that cause the positive results for these drugs. Sildenafil is a prescription drug, while tadalafil is used to treat PAH. The positive results for the blue diamond blue pill indicate the drug may not be the most effective treatment for erectile dysfunction or PAH because it has the least active ingredient in it. The positive results for the blue diamond blue pill are also not consistent with the results for other ED medications.
The FDA issued a public advisory notice on January 18, 2025 advising consumers to avoid purchasing ED drugs online or from unauthorized sources. The FDA’s notification is effective immediately.
According to a review of the FDA’s notice, there are two types of blue diamond blue pill that are FDA-approved:PDE5 Inhibitors
PDE5 Inhibitors are drugs that work in the same way as Viagra and work in a similar way. However, the FDA has not identified any PDE5 inhibitors. Viagra is marketed under the brand name Revatio in Europe. Tadalafil is marketed under the brand name Cialis in Canada. Vardenafil is marketed under the brand name Levitra in Australia. In addition to these FDA-approved blue diamond blue pill, consumers can purchase and use generic blue diamond blue pill, which are known by the brand names Revatio, Vardenafil and Levitra.
The positive results for the blue diamond blue pill are also consistent with the results for other ED medications. The positive results for the blue diamond blue pill are also not consistent with the results for other PAH medications. For example, in one of the other PAH studies, tadalafil had a positive result for Vardenafil. In one study, tadalafil had a positive result for Vardenafil.
The FDA’s warning about the blue diamond blue pill is serious.
